A quieter find by Cleveland in a loaded 2018 J2 class that included George Valera, Jhonkensy Noel, and José Tena, Venezuelan middle infielder Brayan Rocchio is another intriguing middle infield prospect in the Guardians farm system. Cleveland recognized how advanced he was early on and fast-tracked the 22-year-old through the system as he continued to perform on both sides of the ball.
He immediately made a lot of noise during his first professional season by making the rare midseason jump from the DSL to the ACL, going .335/.390/.442 in 269 plate appearances split between the two leagues. He was one of the youngest players on an Opening Day Roster in the New York-Penn League during the 2019 MiLB season and recorded more than 200 PAs at Double-A as a 20-year-old.
